Letizia Caiazzo: A Multifaceted Visual Artist

Letizia Caiazzo, a versatile multimedia visual artist, was born in Naples, Italy. After completing her secondary education at the “Santa Dorotea” Institute in Naples, she pursued an academic diploma in Social Work at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy at the University of Naples “Federico II.”

Art has always been a passion for Letizia, one that she generously shared as an educator for decades, inspiring countless young minds. Her deep appreciation for various artistic expressions led her to explore diverse techniques and mediums in her own work.

Her artistic journey, marked by resilience and determination, has allowed her to participate in prestigious exhibitions. She’s not only exhibited her art but has also taken on roles as an organizer and collaborator for art exhibitions and events with associated publications, promoting art, literature, peace, and solidarity.

Letizia Caiazzo has consistently displayed her work in solo and group exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad, often in prominent public spaces. Some of these include the Sale del Bramante in Rome, Museo Stadio Domiziano in Rome, Castello del Valentino in Turin, Castello di Agropoli, Carcere Borbonico in Avellino, Castel dell’Ovo, and PAN in Naples, Santa Sofia in Salerno, as well as exhibitions in Sorrento, Ascoli Piceno, Assisi, Agrigento, Taormina, Spoleto Festival, Capri, Palazzo Ximenes-Panciatichi in Florence, Casa Museo Spazio Alda Merini in Milan, Parma Fiera, Bari International Contemporary Art Fair, Christiane Peugeot Cultural Center, and Galerie Ars e Miss in Paris. Her works have also graced international venues like the Pazin Museum in Croatia, Chateau de Franc-Waret in Belgium, Dali Museum in Berlin, Pinter Gallery in Budapest, and the Stuttgart City Hall in Germany.

Beyond her visual art, Letizia Caiazzo has gained recognition as a talented poet and writer, earning her a distinguished place in Italy and around the world.

Critics and art and literature historians have taken an interest in her work. Notable figures such as Rosario Pinto, Carlo Roberto Sciascia, Vinicio Coppola, Nuccio Mula, Paolo Levi, Giovanni Cardone, Giovanna Arancio, Maria Teresa Prestigiacomo, Leo Strozzieri, Vania De Luca, and Arpinè Sevagian have engaged with her creations.

Letizia Caiazzo has received numerous honors for her contributions to the arts. She was named an “honoris causa” Academic by the International Academy of the Empedocleans, the Higher Institute of Philosophical Studies in Agrigento. She also received an honorary degree from the International Academy of the Dioscuri in Taranto. Among her most prestigious awards is the International “Alexsander” Prize in 2017, presented by the Swiss Athenaeum “International University of Peace,” under the High Patronage of the “Universum Academy Switzerland,” where she was also named an Honorary Academic. Additionally, she received the ACAMANTE E FILLIDE 2021 Award from the Academy of Fine Arts “Michelangelo” in Agrigento and the Grand Prize “Eccellenze dell’Arte Italiana 2022” from the International Academy of the Dioscuri.

On September 17, 2022, she was named an Honorary Member of the “AZZURRO ITALIA” Movement for Territory and Life by Founder and President, journalist Attilio Miani. On June 10, 2023, she was named an Honorary Member of the Academy of Dogliosi in Avellino.

Letizia Caiazzo’s art finds its home in museums, galleries, private collections, and public spaces both in Italy and abroad. She lives and works in Piano di Sorrento, Naples.
