Mysuru School Introduces Year-Long Value-Based Learning Theme Inspired by Japanese Philosophy

Mysuru: At a time when educational systems increasingly revolve around examinations, rankings, and academic performance, a Mysuru school has come up with a unique theme-based academic initiative aimed at integrating human values, emotional awareness, and responsible citizenship into everyday learning.

The initiative introduces an academic model in which each academic year is centred around a single philosophical or value-oriented concept that becomes part of classroom interaction, student engagement, behavioural culture, and co-curricular activities throughout the year. For the present academic year, the institution has adopted Omotonashi — the Japanese philosophy and art of thoughtful care, mindful sensitivity, and selfless consideration towards others — as its guiding theme.

The concept was introduced through a special orientation session for teachers led by author and educational thinker Dr. Jagadish, who explained practical methods through which these values can be organically incorporated into regular teaching practices across subjects rather than being confined to isolated moral instruction sessions.

According to educators associated with the initiative, the objective is to create learning environments that nurture empathy, discipline, emotional intelligence, responsibility, and civic awareness alongside academic achievement. The year-long thematic approach is intended to help students gradually internalise these values through continuous experience, interaction, and reflection within the school environment.

Educational observers noted that while value education is often discussed in theory, structured thematic integration across an entire academic year remains relatively uncommon within mainstream schooling systems that largely prioritise examination outcomes and academic competition. The initiative therefore reflects an effort to evolve towards a more balanced and human-centred educational framework.

The program is being implemented at KNC Innovative Global School in association with the Global Academy for Transformative Education (GATE) under the guidance of Chairman Dr. K. N. Chandrashekhar, whose emphasis on holistic education has encouraged the introduction of innovative academic practices within the institution. Principal Joseph Frank highlighted the importance of shaping students not only for academic success but also for meaningful and responsible living.

Teachers participating in the orientation session discussed various approaches through which the principles of Omotonashi can be reflected in classroom culture, communication, discipline, peer interaction, and day-to-day educational practices throughout the academic year.

A Philosopher of Existence by Stefano Chiesa to Be Published Internationally

A New Philosophical Voice Emerges: A Philosopher of Existence by Stefano Chiesa to Be Published Internationally

Contemporary philosophical literature continues to search for voices capable of reconnecting intellectual reflection with the intimate realities of human existence. In this landscape, Italian philosopher and writer Stefano Chiesa presents a deeply personal and reflective contribution through his forthcoming international work, A Philosopher of Existence, soon to be published by Writers International Edition.

Rooted in existential inquiry and shaped by years of philosophical contemplation, the book proposes what the author defines as a contemporary “Neo-Existential” perspective — a meditation upon life, death, love, transcendence, suffering, art, silence, and the perpetual search for meaning. Rather than approaching philosophy as a distant academic structure, Chiesa places human experience itself at the center of inquiry, transforming thought into an intimate existential journey.

The work traces intellectual resonances from ancient Greek philosophy to twentieth-century existential reflection, weaving together references to Aristotle, metaphysics, aesthetics, music, ontology, dreams, contradiction, and the fragile architecture of human consciousness. The symbolic connection with Athens — birthplace of Western philosophy — further enriches the spiritual and cultural atmosphere surrounding the project.

Structured through philosophical reflections and aphoristic meditations, A Philosopher of Existence attempts to bridge classical thought and contemporary existential uncertainty. Themes of inclusion, peace, contradiction, mortality, artistic transcendence, and the metaphysical dimensions of music recur throughout the manuscript, revealing an author deeply concerned with the spiritual condition of modern humanity.

Particularly significant is Chiesa’s effort to articulate philosophy not merely as abstraction, but as lived experience. The text repeatedly returns to the idea that existence itself remains indeterminate — something to be explored rather than definitively explained. Within this framework, philosophy becomes not a doctrine, but an ongoing condition of consciousness.

Recognising the international philosophical atmosphere of the work, Writers International Edition has confirmed that the project will appear as a trilingual international edition in Italian, English, and Spanish, allowing the book to reach a broader global readership across Europe and Latin America.

The forthcoming publication also coincides with the growing international literary and cultural engagements surrounding the Global Vision Summit, where the work is expected to receive official presentation alongside other contemporary literary and philosophical projects.

According to the editorial team, A Philosopher of Existence represents not only the publication of a book, but the emergence of a distinct philosophical voice seeking to engage modern readers through reflection, introspection, and intellectual openness.

At a time when contemporary society increasingly confronts fragmentation, uncertainty, and existential fatigue, Stefano Chiesa’s work arrives as an invitation to return to contemplation — to rediscover philosophy as a human necessity rather than a merely academic pursuit.

The international edition of A Philosopher of Existence is currently under preparation and is expected to be officially released in the coming months through Writers International Edition.

Traveling the Earth with Lepagou by Dr. Gerasimos P. Pagoulatos

Writers International Edition Announces the Upcoming International Release of Traveling the Earth with Lepagou

Writers International Edition is delighted to announce the forthcoming international release of Traveling the Earth with Lepagou by distinguished Greek scholar, author, musician, theologian, and archaeologist Dr. Gerasimos P. Pagoulatos, widely known by readers and listeners as Lepagou.

The upcoming work represents a remarkable literary journey shaped by decades of travel, scholarship, cultural exploration, and lived human experience across continents and civilizations. More than a conventional travel narrative, the book brings together memoir, philosophical reflection, cultural observation, personal storytelling, and historical consciousness in a voice that is both intellectually rich and deeply human.

Dr. Pagoulatos completed his doctoral studies in Historical Theology at Saint Louis University, Missouri, after earning his Master’s degree in Theological Studies with specialization in Art and Archaeology from Harvard University. His academic foundation was established at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where he studied Religion.

For many years he has served as Professor of Religion and Ethics at Athens College, Greece, while also contributing extensively to the fields of Byzantine studies, archaeology, theology, art history, and cultural scholarship through research, teaching, publications, conferences, and archaeological work. His scholarly contributions and presentations have reached respected international institutions including Johns Hopkins University, the Walters Art Museum, Ohio State University, the Academy of Athens, and numerous other academic and cultural forums.

Yet beyond the academic world, Dr. Pagoulatos has cultivated an equally compelling creative identity through literature and music. His literary works explore philosophy, memory, identity, and introspection, while his musical projects under the artistic name Lepagou combine melody with contemplative atmosphere and emotional depth. His recent musical releases, including Tina’s Love and Phocean Colors, have further expanded his artistic presence internationally. Readers and listeners may explore his musical work here:

Traveling the Earth with Lepagou emerges from a lifetime of encounters with people, cultures, landscapes, and histories. Conceived within the maritime world as the son of a Greek sea captain, Dr. Pagoulatos began traveling internationally from early childhood, experiences that profoundly shaped his worldview and intellectual development.

The book moves through places as diverse as China, Japan, India, Cuba, the United States, and Greece, presenting not only vivid experiences of travel but also reflections on civilization, identity, spirituality, friendship, freedom, and the meaning of human connection. Through harbors, universities, cities, islands, ships, cafés, museums, and forgotten corners of the world, the narrative gradually unfolds as a meditation on both external and inner journeys.

One of the defining qualities of the manuscript is its ability to combine scholarship with accessibility. The author writes with warmth, humor, curiosity, and emotional honesty while carrying the intellectual depth of a lifelong scholar and observer of cultures. The result is a work that appeals simultaneously to readers of travel literature, memoir, philosophy, cultural studies, and reflective prose.

The visual and narrative atmosphere of the book also carries a strong cinematic quality. Scenes unfold with unusual vividness — from childhood memories aboard ships in Asia to encounters in Havana, university life in America, and contemplative journeys through Greece and the Mediterranean world. Throughout the manuscript, travel becomes not tourism but a process of discovery, awareness, and transformation.

The publication is being presented under the Global Signature Publishing Program of Writers International Edition with international promotional support through the literary and cultural platforms of Writers Capital International Foundation.

As part of the international presentation campaign, Dr. Pagoulatos will also appear in a special featured conversation on Meet the Luminaries Podcast, where he will speak about travel, literature, memory, culture, music, and the inspirations behind the book.

With its unique blend of scholarship, storytelling, cultural depth, philosophical reflection, and human warmth, Traveling the Earth with Lepagou promises to become a distinctive and memorable addition to contemporary international travel literature.

The book is scheduled for upcoming international release through Writers International Edition.

Acclaimed Author Dr. Srilakshmi Adhyapak Champions Poetry’s Enduring Power to Heal and Unite

Athens, September 27, 2025 – In a recent interview with Irene Doura Kavadia conducted as part of Meet the Luminaries series by the Writers Capital International Foundation, Dr. Srilakshmi Adhyapak, a distinguished author and interventional cardiologist from Bangalore, offered a compelling vision of poetry as a universal medium that transcends borders and heals the soul. Speaking ahead of the Panorama International Arts Festival (1 September–14 October), Literature Festival, and Book Festival, she underscored the role of virtual platforms in amplifying literary voices, aligning with the festivals’ aim to engage 300–400 artists and authors globally.

“Poetry has a very far reach even now and it is inspired by nature. Nature finds itself in poems, paintings, so many things,” Dr. Adhyapak remarked, encapsulating her belief in poetry’s ability to resonate deeply with diverse audiences. This perspective, rooted in her extensive body of work, including The Ramayana and Other Poems, The Song Divine (a poetic rendering of the Bhagavad Gita), and Katha Upanishad in Verse, highlights her commitment to making India’s spiritual texts accessible through English verse.

Dr. Adhyapak’s literary journey began at age 12, sparked by nature’s beauty—sunsets, birds, and flowers—which inspired verses that her teachers encouraged her to pursue. Despite the demands of her medical career, with 36-hour shifts as head of cardiology at St. John’s Medical College Hospital, she found poetry a regenerative force. “Poetry is something which sort of regenerates your mind,” she noted, explaining how composing verses during brief respites kept her resilient amidst intense professional pressures.

Her translations of epic texts like the Ramayana and Bhagavad Gita into English verse were driven by a desire for global reach. “I thought why not make it into English verse so that it’s got a better reach,” she said, describing her ambition to share these universal stories with international poets and readers. The Katha Upanishad, with its profound questions about life and death, posed a daunting challenge, but her perseverance, supported by the Writers Capital International Foundation, resulted in a work she considers a divine accomplishment.

Dr. Adhyapak also highlighted poetry’s therapeutic potential, drawing parallels with music’s role in medical settings. She cited a case from Bangalore’s NIMHANS, where a stroke patient regained speech through singing, illustrating how rhythm and creativity aid healing. “Poems have an ability to heal because it is rhythmic and the rhythm is akin to music,” she observed, bridging her medical expertise with her literary passion.

Her association with the Writers Capital International Foundation, facilitated by poet Ambika Anand, has been pivotal. She praised the Foundation’s non-commercial approach, stating, “It’s not like publishing houses where it’s a very commercial thing. This is more of loving the book, loving poetry.”

As the Panorama Festivals approach, Dr. Adhyapak’s insights resonate with their mission to foster global cultural exchange through virtual platforms. Her interview, available on YouTube (https://youtu.be/DtfyoWQI13I), underscores the power of poetry to unite and heal, offering inspiration for contributors like USA-based curator Tamikio L. Dooley and the global literary community.

Stefano Chiesa: Italian Polymath Nominated for Global Icon Awards 2025

Milan, March 29, 2025 – Stefano Chiesa, a Milan-born writer, philosopher, music critic, poet, and pianist, has been named a nominee for the prestigious Global Icon Awards 2025. At just 34 years old, Chiesa has built an extraordinary career that spans literature, philosophy, and music, earning him a reputation as a versatile and influential figure in the arts. This approximately 1000-word news article explores the accomplishments and multifaceted journey of a man whose nomination reflects his significant impact on both Italian and international stages.

A Milanese Talent with Global Roots

Born in Milan in 1990, Stefano Chiesa grew up in a city synonymous with art, fashion, and intellectual pursuit—an environment that nurtured his diverse talents. His academic journey took a pivotal turn when he studied philosophy at the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne during the 2013-2014 Erasmus program. This experience in Paris enriched his philosophical outlook, blending Italian pragmatism with French existentialism, and laid the groundwork for his later explorations in writing and thought.

Chiesa’s career is a tapestry of interwoven disciplines. As a writer, he has published nine books over the past 12 years—six essays, two poetry collections, and one novel. As a philosopher, he has delivered thought-provoking lectures at Milan’s Casa della Cultura in 2020, 2022, and 2023. His work as a music critic has garnered over 30,000 views for articles in MilanoSud (2021-2022) and continues to captivate readers in Il Giornale Letterario. His poetic voice, defined by the art of the aphorism, complements his skill as a pianist, where he brings to life the works of Rachmaninov, Chopin, Beethoven, and Mozart. This nomination for the Global Icon Awards 2025 celebrates a career that defies categorization and bridges creative and intellectual worlds.

A Prolific Literary and Musical Voice

Chiesa’s literary output is both prolific and diverse, reflecting his deep engagement with music, philosophy, and human experience. In 2024, he presented Da Bach a Scriabin – Ritratti di 12 pianisti (Edizioni Helicon) at the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino, offering readers intimate portraits of twelve legendary pianists. Later that year, his book Chopin, l’estro del genio – Il visionario romantico (Il Filo di Arianna) debuted at the Frankfurt Book Fair (Buchmesse), earning acclaim for its vivid exploration of Chopin’s genius. This latter work secured a dedicated page on the International Institute Fryderyk Chopin (NIFC) website in Warsaw, highlighting its scholarly resonance.

His poetry and short stories have appeared in various anthologies, including the internationally celebrated Arte senza frontiere, which was awarded the title “Libro por la paz 2024” for its contributions to peace through art. Chiesa’s signature poetic style—the aphorism—distills profound insights into concise, striking lines, resonating with readers and critics alike. As a pianist, he channels his literary passion into performances of Romantic and Classical masterpieces, creating a synergy between his written and musical expressions. Currently, he is focusing on new aphoristic works and research proposals for the Chopin Institute in Warsaw, further deepening his connection to the “poet of the piano.”

A Legacy of Recognition

Chiesa’s nomination is underpinned by an impressive record of over 50 literary awards since 2020, spanning poetry, fiction, and essays. These honors reflect his consistent excellence and the admiration he commands within the literary community. His presence on platforms such as WikiPoesia, WikiFilosofia, and the NIFC website underscores his growing influence across artistic and academic spheres. From local accolades to international recognition, Chiesa’s achievements highlight his versatility and dedication.

His appearances at two of the world’s most prestigious book fairs in 2024—Turin and Frankfurt—elevated his profile, showcasing his ability to engage both scholarly and general audiences. These events spotlighted his dual role as a creator and interpreter, qualities that resonate with the Global Icon Awards’ emphasis on innovation and inspiration. Whether analyzing the technical brilliance of Scriabin or crafting a pithy aphorism, Chiesa’s work consistently earns praise for its depth and originality.

Bridging Disciplines with Passion

Chiesa’s contributions extend beyond the page and the piano. His philosophical lectures at the Casa della Cultura have positioned him as a thinker who tackles contemporary questions with historical insight, captivating Milanese audiences. As a music critic, he offers readers a blend of technical analysis and emotional resonance, drawing on his experience as a pianist to illuminate the works of classical masters. This interdisciplinary approach—fusing philosophy, literature, and music—makes him a standout nominee whose influence crosses traditional boundaries.

His current projects signal a continued commitment to exploration. Focusing on aphoristic poetry and research for the Chopin Institute, Chiesa is poised to further enrich his already impressive body of work. This forward-looking dedication aligns with the Global Icon Awards’ mission to honor individuals who shape culture and thought on a global scale.

A Nominee with Global Potential

As the Global Icon Awards 2025 draw near, Stefano Chiesa stands out as a compelling candidate whose talents resonate far beyond Italy. His nine books, extensive award haul, and international engagements at literary and musical institutions underscore a career driven by passion and versatility. From the lecture halls of Milan to the book fairs of Turin and Frankfurt, Chiesa’s work connects with diverse audiences, blending art and intellect in a way that inspires and challenges.

This nomination highlights a man who embodies the essence of a global icon—someone whose creativity and insight transcend borders. While the awards’ outcome remains uncertain, Chiesa’s inclusion among the nominees is a testament to his remarkable journey and the promise of future contributions. As he continues to weave his unique blend of words, music, and ideas, the world eagerly anticipates what this Italian polymath will achieve next.
