K. Mohana Subrahmani, known as KMS among the artists of Kerala, is a celebrated painter whose works resonate with the vibrant cultural tapestry of his home state. KMS began his educational journey at St. Mary’s High School in Koodathai before advancing to Malabar Christian College for his higher studies. Initially, he enrolled in the Calicut Medical College to pursue a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT). However, his passion for art ultimately led him to seek formal training in painting. He honed his skills at Universal Art and the Hyderabad Fine Arts College, later earning a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of Mysore.

His artistic talent has been showcased across various prestigious galleries, solidifying his reputation in the art world. KMS has exhibited his works in numerous locations, with a significant milestone being his display at the Jahangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, marking a turning point in his career. He has been honored with the Kerala State Teachers Vidhyarangam Sahitya Vedi Award four times, and he won the KSTA Award in 2017. His recognition extends to the international stage, where he received the International Award of Excellence in the 2nd International Online Art Exhibition in 2020, followed by the Master Award in the International Art Maestro Award Exhibition in 2023. His remarkable achievements continue to highlight his talent and dedication to his craft.
