George Lenis, a distinguished artist born in Piraeus, Greece, currently resides in Ilioupoli, where he continues to explore and expand his artistic horizons. His diverse training encompasses a wide array of artistic disciplines, including hagiography and mural painting, stained glass creation, brush-spatula techniques, pastel and charcoal drawing, watercolor (aquarelle), engraving, pottery, and ceramic techniques. This rich background has allowed him to actively participate in numerous group exhibitions, showcasing his talents in hagiography, iconography, painting, and ceramics both in Greece and abroad.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, George Lenis plays a vital role in the cultural landscape of Greece. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PELT, the “Panhellenic Society of Speech and Art,” and is an esteemed member of the “Association for the Promotion of Traditional and Modern Ceramics & Handicrafts.” His dedication to the arts extends to his membership in the UNESCO Group of Piraeus and Islands, reflecting his commitment to promoting cultural heritage. Furthermore, he previously held a position on the Board of Directors of the Municipal Library at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ilioupoli, Attica, further emphasizing his involvement in the community.

Throughout his career, George has garnered numerous distinctions and awards, highlighting his artistic achievements. Notably, he received recognition from the Writers Capital International Foundation at the international Hagiography/Iconography Competition in Italy in 2021, as well as accolades at the Panorama International Arts and Sculpture Festival in 2022. His artworks, including “Ithaca” (pastel) and “Rough Sea – Trikymia” (charcoal), were displayed at the prestigious 17th Panhellenic exhibition of the Parnassus Philological Association, where he was honored for his contributions to the field. In the 2nd Panhellenic exhibition of the same association, he earned a Commendation for his works “The Secret” and “The Past” (oil painting with spatula).
