Marzelan bin Md Jusoh, better known as Perindu Seni, embodies a multifaceted persona rooted in his passion for the arts and his dedicated service to Malaysia. Born in Pendang, Kedah, Marzelan currently resides in Desa Tasik, Sg Besi, Kuala Lumpur, where he has carved a niche for himself both in the military and the literary world.
With a Diploma in Multimedia from Open University Malaysia (OUM), Marzelan serves as a 1st Warrant Officer in Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia, Kem Rasah, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. His journey in the arts commenced during his school days and has continued to blossom ever since.
Marzelan’s involvement in poetry began with the Poetry Recital Competition for Independence Day in 2006 at the Royal Military level (ATM). Since then, he has been a steadfast participant in numerous poetry recital competitions, including SDPK 2017, 2020, and 2021. His contributions to the literary scene extend beyond competitions, as he frequently serves as a speaker in poetry and literature arts workshops, captivating audiences with his profound insights and eloquent verses.
A pivotal moment in Marzelan’s career came in 2018 when he was invited to perform live on RTM TV1 during the launch of Majlis Perlancaran Tabung Rayuan Hari Pahlawan. His poetry has found resonance in various publications and anthologies, including “Angin Pangkor,” “Covid-19,” “Langit Akrab,” “Dandani Luka-luka Tanah Air,” “Malaysia Satu,” “Yang Kaubunuh Adalah Cinta,” and “Citra Insani,” among others.
In addition to his literary endeavors, Marzelan is an active member of Persatuan Pemuisi Nasional Malaysia (PEMUISI), where he serves as the assistant secretary. His commitment to promoting poetry and literature is evident through his participation as a jury member for PEMUISI competitions and collaborations with other societies, both within Malaysia and abroad.
Marzelan’s participation in programs such as Baca Puisi Nanggala 402, Malam Puisi Buat Palestin, Majlis Perlancaran Hari Puisi Malaysia, and Pengucapan Puisi Antarabangsa 20 Buah Negara underscores his dedication to fostering literary excellence and cultural exchange on an international scale.
