At the age of nineteen, he joined a dialysis program, a journey that continued until he was twenty-seven when he underwent a kidney transplant, with his mother as the donor. Currently, he is undergoing dialysis once again.

Since 2014, Pantelis has served as the founder and administrator of the blog www.nefropatheis.gr and the Facebook group “Kidney patients and transplant recipients of Greece.” Additionally, he is the administrator of the blog www.dwrea-zois.gr and the Facebook group “Organ donation Gift of life,” which was founded by his friend and colleague Elena Karabi, a kidney transplant recipient for 32 years. Together, in 2020, they co-authored their first book, “The Dialysis Glossary,” a pocket-sized resource filled with valuable information for people on dialysis.
