Born on February 14, 1962, in Bandung, Indonesia, Ferri Anugerah Makmur has carved a remarkable path as a motivator, author, and poet, leaving an indelible mark on the literary and motivational landscape of Malaysia and beyond.

His journey began in the halls of St. John’s Institution, where he excelled as a student leader, serving as the President of the Malay Club in 1980. Even in his formative years, Ferri exhibited a passion for language and expression, which would later become the cornerstone of his literary endeavors.

Ferri’s creative journey unfolded through various mediums, from penning lyrics for the album “Ferri’88 Nostalgia,” collaborating with renowned songwriter Royston Santa Maria, to documenting his travels in the blog “Journey MAS 1988-1996.” His literary prowess extended to publishing “The Journey of Malaysian Art,” a testament to his dedication to promoting Malaysian culture and heritage.

An integral part of Ferri’s journey is his role as a motivator and speaker, inspiring audiences across Malaysia and beyond. His motivational talks at the Ministry of Education and Lautze Mosque in Jakarta and Bandung have garnered acclaim and recognition, earning him accolades from luminaries such as Mr. Karim Ooi, the Founder of Lautze Mosque Indonesia.

Ferri’s literary contributions have not gone unnoticed. His book “Cinta Agung Ibu” became a Malaysia Best Seller, selling an impressive 28,000 copies. Furthermore, his works have been recognized globally, with his books finding a place in prestigious institutions like The Library of Congress in Washington and the National Library of Russia.

In 2021, Ferri celebrated the launch of his latest book, with commentary by Dato Dr. Zurinah Hassan, a National Laureate, and the Indonesian version inaugurated by Mr. Mahyeldi Ansharullah, the Governor of South Sumatra. This milestone underscored Ferri’s enduring commitment to literature and his ability to transcend cultural boundaries with his words.

Ferri’s journey of creativity and inspiration culminated in his appointment as the Head of Accreditation and Official MC for the Kuala Lumpur International Film Academy Awards (KLIFAA) in 2024, solidifying his position as a leader in the arts and literary community.
