Carmen Granda Garzón was born on November 28, 1950. Carmen has a deep passion for art, which she uses as a medium to express emotions that words often fail to capture. She takes pride in her artistic heritage, passed down from ancestors who excelled in various creative disciplines.
In 1983, Carmen earned a degree in Business Engineering from the Ecuadorian Technological University. From 1984 to 1996, she worked in the banking sector in her city. Between 1990 and 1993, she attended drawing and oil painting workshops under the guidance of the distinguished Ecuadorian teacher Joaquín Endara Ruiz. From 2021 to 2022, she continued to refine her artistic skills under the mentorship of Ecuadorian teachers Juan Carlos Palacios and Ruth Montenegro.
Her artistic journey began with a group exhibition in 1993 at the Sheraton Hotel in Quito, organized by Taller JER. She followed this with another group exhibition in 1995 at the House of Culture in Ecuador, also through Taller JER. In 2022, Carmen participated in the “Icons of Our Land” exhibition organized by Sociedad Artística Magnos Eventos Internacionales in Chile, as well as the International Exhibition Uniáo de Talentos during the June Festivals Arte Gral in Brazil. She was also involved in several exhibitions, including the First International Poetic Consortium Universal de Altar Piece, La Ciencia y Bellas Artes in Mexico, the First Festival of Fine Arts at Liesel Cerna Studio in Brazil, and “Romantic Era Landscapes” hosted by the Consortium Universal de la Ciencia y Bellas Artes in Mexico.
In 2022 she further participated in the Art Contest with Stories organized by Daniella Cinalli Rossi in Argentina, and in “Brilliant Minds” at Liesel Cerna Studio in Brazil. She also contributed to the Painting Icons, 9th Edition, organized by Ezequiel Orue in Argentina. In 2022, Carmen was featured in the Pictorial Show “4 Seasons” hosted by SAMEI in Chile. Her 2022 activities included participation in the Collective Pictorial Exhibition with Liz Tania Vela, endorsed by the Creative Artistic Women of the Ministry of Culture in Peru; the International Exhibition by Selene Salas Fox at Galeria Pablo Picasso in Mexico; the exhibition “Flowers of My Country” at ECIRA Internacional in Argentina; and the 1st World Virtual Biennial Leonart International Group in the Dominican Republic.
Carmen later showcased her work in “Absolute Freedom” at ECIRA Internacional in Argentina, and in the International Exhibition “A Look at Art” at the House of Culture in Costa Rica. She held an individual in-person exhibition titled “Be Reborn” at Buena Vista, Quito, Ecuador. December 2022 featured her participation in the in-person Pictorial Exhibition at El Casal Catalá in Quito, “Pont Pictoric,” and in the Pictorial Exhibition Tribute to Daniella Cinalli Rossi in Argentina, which honored Vincent van Gogh. She also took part in the II Virtual Collective Exhibition “Beyond Disability” organized by the Defense Committee for People with Disabilities.
In 2023, Carmen exhibited in Catamarca at “Arte, Color y Pasión,” organized by Daniella Rossi and she also participated in the Biennial organized by the Writers Capital Foundation and the Panorama International Arts & Literature Festival. Most recently, Carmen was featured as an artist in the 9th Geoje International Art Festival at the Haegeumgang Theme Museum and Yukyung Art Museum in Geoje, Republic of Korea.
