Echoes of a Vision: Report on Global Vision Summit 2025 – Greek Edition

A Three-Day Cultural and Intellectual Celebration in Athens, Greece

Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Preeth Nambiar, Founder & President of Writers Capital International Foundation and Chairman of the Global Vision Summit, the Greek Edition of the Global Vision Summit 2025 was held from June 30 to July 3 in the cultural and historical city of Athens, Greece. This regional celebration was coordinated by Prof. Irene Doura-Kavadia, Secretary-General of the Foundation, and served as an extension of the original global initiative envisioned by Prof. Nambiar.

Organised with the support of distinguished regional and international partners, the Summit was held under the auspices of the Region of Attica, Municipality of Vari–Voula–Vouliagmeni, UNESCO Group Arts, Letters & Sciences Greece, and FIJET, the World Federation of Travel Journalists and Writers. It brought together voices from the fields of literature, culture, diplomacy, science, and the arts in a powerful testament to the unifying power of intellectual and cultural dialogue.


DAY 1 – Monday, June 30 | Antonis Tritsis Amphitheatre, OPANDA

The opening ceremony commenced with a video presentation on the Global Vision Summit’s founding ideals—a reminder of its global aim to promote peace, unity, and intercultural harmony through literature and education.

A warm welcome was offered by Ms. Olga Acheimastou, followed by the Presidential Message from Prof. Preeth Nambiar, read by Ms. Despena Dalmaris, Master of Ceremonies. His message reaffirmed the Foundation’s enduring commitment to cultural diplomacy and the spiritual unity of humankind.

The central keynote was delivered by Prof. Irene Doura-Kavadia, who offered a reflective address tying the present moment to the original vision of the Global Vision Summit. The day featured addresses by diplomatic dignitaries and cultural collaborators, as well as Excellence Awards to outstanding contributors including:

  • H.E. Alison Duncan, Ambassador of Australia (award accepted by Mr. Scully)

  • Dr. James George Brianas – keynote: “The Coming of the Greeks”

Celebrated authors including Preetha Vikram, Vandana Kumar, and Christi Simo presented their literary works under the banner of Writers International Edition.


DAY 2 – Wednesday, July 2 | IONIA Cultural Centre, Riviera of Attica

Coordinated by Prof. Irene Doura-Kavadia, the second day deepened the Summit’s intellectual engagements with speeches, artistic presentations, and honours conferred upon leading voices in literature, medicine, and cultural diplomacy.

Greetings were extended by dignitaries including:

  • Mr. Grigoris Konstantellos (Mayor, Vari–Voula–Vouliagmeni)

  • Ms. Nina Diakovasili (President, Club for UNESCO Greece)

  • Dr. Antonino Russo (President, Con Giorgia per la vita)

The Panorama Literary & Arts Awards were presented to a distinguished group of international artists, while acclaimed poets and thinkers enriched the evening with readings and lectures. Notably:

  • Vandana Kumar: “Volunteering and Translation as Bridges of Culture”

  • Preetha VR: “Where Dreams Begin and Voices Rise”

A musical interlude by the Rapti Conservatory elevated the atmosphere, while the anthology JALAM – Water: The Essence of Life, curated by Prof. Preeth Nambiar and edited by Smeetha Bhoumik, was presented as a symbolic ode to the sacredness of water.


DAY 3 – Thursday, July 3 | Melina Cultural Centre, Thiseio, Athens

The final day offered a reflective tone, focusing on environmental issues, poetic tributes, and the Summit’s broader humanitarian message.

Prof. Irene Doura-Kavadia delivered the opening address, aligning the Summit’s Greek edition with the global philosophy of the Writers Capital Foundation. Speeches were delivered by:

  • Ms. Iris Kasola (Melina Cultural Centre)

  • Mr. Panagiotis Sfaelos (AEJ)

  • Ms. Christina Levién-Giannakouli (Union of Mexicans in Greece)

The prestigious Global Icon Awards were presented to:

  • Dr. Vasiliki Meleti

  • Vandana Kumar

  • Maximino Melchor Vázquez

  • Marianna Gevorgyan

Other honours included:

  • Poetry by Iphigenia Metochi

  • A soulful musical performance by Maximino Melchor Vázquez

  • Keynote by Prof. Jeffrey Levett on paradoxes of water in science and symbolism

Multilingual publications, including works by Maximino Vázquez, Dimitris Karousis, and Carmelita Gómez Bravo, were ceremonially launched, reinforcing the summit’s commitment to universal literature.


A Legacy in Motion

The Athens edition, while vibrant and independently coordinated, stands as a tribute to the overarching mission envisioned by Prof. Preeth Nambiar—a mission that continues to inspire humanitarian values and global unity through literature and the arts coordinated by Irene Doura Kavadia who is steadfast in spreading the vision and mission of the foundation. As the Global Vision Summit continues its journey across cultures and continents, each regional gathering carries the flame of its founder’s dream: a world uplifted through thought, expression, and shared humanity.
