Bertha Valencia Pereda, a luminous figure born on July 29, 1952, in the District of Lacabamba, Pallasca Province, Áncash Department, Peru, embodies a profound commitment to literature, education, and the arts. Bertha’s academic voyage commenced with primary education in her hometown, followed by secondary schooling at the prestigious GUE “Elvira García y García” in Lima. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue Chemical Engineering at the esteemed Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, where she honed her analytical skills and scientific acumen.

Bertha’s professional trajectory reflects a diverse array of roles, each infused with a deep sense of dedication and purpose. From her tenure as a General Chemistry laboratory teacher at the University of San Marcos to her pivotal contributions as a Chemical Engineer in the realms of painting, dyeing, and fertilizer production, she has left an indelible mark on the fields of industry and academia.

A passionate advocate for holistic education, Bertha has embraced the principles of Waldorf pedagogy, inspired by the visionary Rudolf Steiner. Her role as a science teacher in secondary schools, where she imparts knowledge in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, reflects her unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering intellectual curiosity.

Bertha’s journey as a poet blossomed from a young age, culminating in prolific contributions to various poetry groups and publications. Amid the challenges of the pandemic, she found solace and inspiration in the VENTANA ABIERTA Poetry group, led by the esteemed Master of Literature, Eliana Vásquez Colichón. Through her personal blog, “The Song of a Muse,” and affiliations with esteemed poetry collectives such as “Poems of the Enchanted Soul” and “Universal Poetic Utopia,” Bertha’s lyrical voice resonates with profound emotion and introspection.

In February 2021, Bertha unveiled her debut collection of poems, “The Mystery and the Dream in Love,” marking a poignant milestone in her literary journey. Subsequently, she captivated audiences with her second collection, “The Song of a Muse,” released in September 2023, both published by Arteidea publishing house.
