Christos Dikbasanis

THE DREAMER: Poem by Christos Dikbasanis

I want to leave away from the globe
to travel to heavenly places
that I haven’t met them yet,
on all-luminous planets
that no one ever saw them
My routes seem like dreams in the eternal night
To fill my soul with unprecedented mysteries
who will always be alert my mind and heart
The gloomy darkness be
only a shadow lost in the memory of men
Let there be nothing ugly around me
but only happiness, contentment, peace
To feel this, I am not alone and disappointed
With luminous entities
strange but beautiful cultures
to play the music of my desires
To have no regrets
for the years I lived on Earth
alienated and dreamer

GIOCONTA’S BABY: Poem by Christos Dikbasanis

To my wonderfull granddaughter

May the Lord always be with you
baby of tomorrow’s hope
Silently your crying begins
to tear our sky apart
Melody of a beautiful angelic world
which arrives with little feet
naked, cute,
with a blindingly pure look
that nails it sweet
like a knife in our soul

May the Lord always stand
by your side, to arrange
the white clothes of your future life
In the afternoon you leave
the stars of your dreams
to illuminate our doubtful age
In the crazy fog of our imagination
in our mind the furious tropes
you unleash your care into harmony

The dates of your upcoming life
keep coming back to our memories
that were not born yet
but they are going to exist irrevocably

May the Lord be with you always
baby of tomorrow’s hope
She holds you in her arms
Gioconda your mother
with a thin, transparent
fragile expression
She feels happy that she can touch
with trembling hands
your electrified form
Your light penetrates her
It spreads everywhere
It brightens our tired faces
It breaks the wrinkles
of our worries about you

It fills us with colors, smells
myths from the world
of your desires
who direct with their visions
the arrow of our relentless time
into our clouded eyes.
The excitement of our young days
engrave your own way through the paths
of bright destinations
which slowly unfold before you
May the Lord always be with you
