Oslier Pérez Miralles: A Multifaceted Cuban Artist

Born on November 23, 1985, in Bauta, Cuba, Oslier Pérez Miralles is a multifaceted artist known for his contributions to the visual arts, music, and audiovisual production. He is a singer-songwriter, composer, and audiovisual creator. Pérez Miralles graduated from the “Eduardo Abela” Academy of Fine Arts in the painting specialization, located in San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa.

After completing his studies, he returned to his alma mater to teach painting. His career has been marked by over 10 solo exhibitions and participation in more than 50 group exhibitions. Among his notable exhibitions are:

  • Solo exhibition “Made in Cuba I” at the Bauta Gallery and later at the Bejucal Gallery (2007).
  • Solo exhibition “Made in Cuba II” at the Interactive Lobby “Cine Riviera,” part of the ICAIC Project 23 (2011).
  • Joint exhibition “Silhouettes and Spaces” at the “Sergio Corriere” exhibition hall in the “Julio A. Mella” National Camp, Caimito (2009).

Pérez Miralles has also been part of various group exhibitions, including “National Graduates of the Academies of Fine Arts” at the Galería del Puerto in Havana (2005), “The Fifth Element” at Estudios Abdala, a collateral exhibition to Cubadisco 2012, “I Have Something to Tell You” at Galería Fresa y Chocolate (2013), and “It Runs in My Blood,” an exhibition showcasing Cuban and Mexican creators at Galería Emilio Rivero Merlín Güira de Melena in 2022.

Between 2015 and 2017, Pérez Miralles created different sculptural installations in the provinces of Mayabeque, Artemisa, Pinar del Río, and Havana. Some of his notable works include “The Ruins of Angerona,” “The Sleepless Pupil,” “The Chieftain of Mayabeque,” “The Bride of the Sea,” “The Pitcher’s Hand,” “Mischievous Child,” and more. He has also played a role in restoring streets, parks, and various indoor and outdoor spaces in these provinces.

In 2022, Pérez Miralles was responsible for restoring the graffiti at the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños. His artwork has been featured in books published in the United States, Italy, and Turkey.

In 2022, his piece “Amistades” graced the cover of the Mexican magazine “Orbe Mx.” Other publications such as Verbum Press in Italy, Entre Paréntesis in Chile, Diario de Escritores in the United States, Unión Mundial de Poetas por la Paz y la Libertad, and “L’Isola Felice” Associazione Culturale in Italy have also showcased his work.

Pérez Miralles collaborated on the video “El Fotingo de Caridad” by Pedrito Calvo, alongside artist Karol William Pérez Zambrano. In 2019, he founded the Alternative Music Group “Vértice,” where he serves as the lead vocalist and author of nearly all the songs. His outstanding contributions to music earned him nominations at the Cuerda Viva Awards in 2021, specifically in the categories of “Novel Group of the Year” and “Pop Rock Music.”
