1. What is the theme for PIAF 2024?
The theme for this year is “Agni: The Element of Fire.” It symbolizes passion, transformation, and resilience, and also addresses global issues such as Global Warming. All artworks should connect to this theme either philosophically or in relation to environmental concerns.
2. Who can participate in the festival?
Artists from all countries are eligible to participate. Both professional and amateur artists are welcome. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
3. What are the categories for submission?
The categories for submission include:
- Paintings
- Sculptures
- Photography
- Music
- Dance
- Theatre
- Other Visual Arts There is also a special category for artworks created using recycled or repurposed items.
4. How do I submit my artwork?
To submit your artwork, follow these steps:
- After the registration process, send high-resolution images or videos of your work to wcifcentral@gmail.com.
- Provide a brief description (300-500 words) explaining the concept, medium, and how it relates to the theme.
- Ensure all submissions are received by July 30, 2024.
5. What file formats are accepted?
- Images: JPEG or PNG, minimum resolution 300 dpi.
- Videos: MP4, maximum duration 10 minutes.
- Audio Files: MP3 or WAV.
- Documents: PDF or DOCX for written descriptions and supporting documents.
6. Is there a submission fee?
Yes, there is a nominal submission fee to cover administrative costs. Detailed information about the fee is available on the registration page.
7. How will my work be evaluated?
Submissions will undergo an initial review for adherence to guidelines and theme relevance. Selected works will then be evaluated by our esteemed international jury, chaired by Nuccio Mula. The criteria include originality, creativity, technical skill, and thematic relevance.
8. When will I know if my artwork has been selected?
Artists will be notified of the results via email by September 15, 2024.
9. What are the benefits of participating?
Participants gain global exposure, demonstrate commitment to humanitarian values, enhance their search presence on the worldwide web, compete for prestigious awards, and have the opportunity to visit Athens, Greece. Selected artists may also feature in the Global Artisan Chronicle 2024.
10. What does hybrid mode mean?
Hybrid mode means the festival will have both virtual and physical components. There will be physical events in selected countries, and selected works will also be displayed during the Global Vision Summit, planned as a culmination of PIAF and PILF.
11. Where and when will the festival take place?
The festival will take place globally in a hybrid mode from August 1-31, 2024.
